About This Option

A loft unit is the storage above the wardrobe that most homes either skip or build badly. Built correctly it captures the 600mm to 900mm between wardrobe top and ceiling, which is enough for suitcases, winter bedding, festival items and cartons - and it has to be reinforced, because loft contents are heavy and rarely handled gently. We specify a thicker deck with additional support battens, shutters that open upward on lift-up hardware or sideways on hinges depending on ceiling clearance, and internal division so contents do not slide to the back out of reach. Loft shutters are finished to match the wardrobe exactly so the wall reads as one full-height composition rather than a wardrobe with a box on top. Where a false ceiling or beam runs above, the loft height is detailed around it. This is the highest value-per-rupee storage in most Indian homes because the space already exists and is otherwise wasted.
